Why we exist

Most people with private cover never use it.

The reasons we hear are almost always the same: concerns about cost, and whether it can be claimed. Neither is a medical problem. And neither should stop you from seeking the treatment you deserve.

Founded for the layman.

What to have ready

We don’t make assumptions about your coverage.

Your condition.

Tell us what’s bothering you.

  • If it hurts, where?
  • How long has it been?
  • Have you seen a GP?

Your coverages.

Tell us which hospital plan you’re on, and whether your company provides medical benefits. Send the benefit schedule if you have it.

Depending on your insurance coverages, some things might not be covered. We would tell you what your policy says before you see the doctor, so you know what to expect on potential costs.

The process

What happens after you message us.

01

A discovery call, so we understand your situation properly.

02

We go through your policy, tell you what it says, and give you the indicative cost.

03

We check with a doctor what the likely next step is, and translate it back to you.

04

You decide. No pressure.

05

We book with a specialist best suited to your issue, and whose panel listing fits your policy.

06

If you would like, a dedicated handler stays with you through the rest of your medical journey.

Drag to walk it

Indicative only. We are not doctors and we do not give medical advice. We coordinate; the doctor decides.

What people misunderstand

Four myths.

  1. “I can only claim if I am warded overnight.”

Day surgeries usually do not require an overnight stay and are often still claimable. Whether yours is depends on your own policy wording. These tend to be smaller or less complex procedures, like a colonoscopy or having a lump removed, where you are in and out the same day.

  2. “I need a referral letter to see a specialist.”

Not always. You can usually see a private specialist without one. A referral letter is required if you are using corporate insurance, so whether you need one depends on which cover you are claiming against.

  3. “If the doctor’s clinic is at a particular hospital, the procedure has to be done there.”

Not true. Many specialists operate at more than one facility. What matters is that the facility is on your insurer’s panel, because some insurers expect both the doctor and the facility to be. If you are not sure, check with us.

  4. “If I claim, my premium goes up next year.”

How premiums are priced varies by insurer and by plan, and it is not always about your own claims history. Check with your agent to be sure.

General guidance, not advice on your specific policy. We go through the details with you before anything is booked.

What people don’t know

The things people quietly put up with.

  • Neck and back ache that has been there for years
  • A sports injury that never quite healed
  • Sinus problems and snoring
  • Bloating that gets explained away
  • Diastasis recti after childbirth
  • Gynaecomastia
  • Sagging eyelids

These affect daily life, yet most of them are treatable.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Does this cost me anything?

No. You pay the clinic, not us.

Will you tell me if it is not claimable?

Yes, as early as we can. That is the part most people find useful.

Can you tell me what is wrong with me?

No. We are not doctors. We help you ask the right specialist the right questions, and break their advice down into simple terms.

Do I have to decide anything on the call?

No. Plenty of people message us just to get an idea of what to expect. There is no pressure.
